Several Hospitalised Following New Year’s Eve Spiking Incident in Glastonbury

Multiple individuals were hospitalised after a spiking incident in Glastonbury during the early hours of New Year’s Day. Police responded to a venue on Glastonbury High Street where the suspected administration of a noxious substance led to several people requiring medical treatment.

All those affected have since been discharged from hospital. Authorities have arrested one man on suspicion of administering the substance, and he remains in police custody as inquiries continue.

The Mendip Neighbourhood Police have stated that this appears to be an isolated incident, with no wider threat to public safety. They have reassured the local community that officers in Glastonbury remain vigilant and are addressing the situation.

In a statement, the police said: “During the early hours of New Year’s Day we were called to a venue on Glastonbury High Street after several people required hospital treatment. We’re pleased to report all have now been discharged. One man was arrested on suspicion of administering a noxious substance and remains in custody. We consider this to be an isolated incident at this time.”
