Several attendees were hospitalised following a suspected spiking incident during New Year’s celebrations in Glastonbury.
Shortly after midnight on New Year’s Day, police responded to reports from a venue on Glastonbury High Street where multiple individuals required urgent medical attention due to suspected exposure to a harmful substance. All affected individuals have since been treated and discharged from hospital.
Authorities arrested one man on suspicion of administering a noxious substance. He is currently in police custody as investigations continue.

Mendip Neighbourhood Police have confirmed the incident is being treated as isolated, with no ongoing threat to the wider public. A spokesperson stated, “We want to reassure the community that local officers remain vigilant and are managing the situation closely.”
The police also provided guidance for anyone concerned they may have been a victim of spiking, emphasizing the importance of seeking medical help promptly.
