Schoolgirl Grabbed by Stranger in Yeovil: Police Appeal for Witnesses

A 13-year-old girl was left shaken after a stranger grabbed her arm while she was walking between Freedom Avenue and Burroughes Avenue in Yeovil yesterday morning (Wednesday, October 1). The incident occurred at around 8 a.m. when an unknown individual suddenly grabbed and pulled the girl’s left arm.

Fortunately, the girl managed to push the assailant away and quickly ran to safety. Although she did not get a clear description of the person responsible, she believes the individual was a man.

Yeovil neighbourhood inspector Roseanna Green expressed concern over the distress caused by the incident and confirmed that police are providing support to the girl and her family. The victim’s school is also involved, alerting parents and carers about the situation and offering additional assistance.

Avon and Somerset Police have urged witnesses or anyone with relevant footage to contact them by calling 101 and quoting reference 5225275171, or by completing the online appeals form. The community’s help is crucial in ensuring this offender is identified and held accountable.
