In a shocking incident shortly before rush hour on Thursday, January 8, multiple vehicles in Somerset were struck by objects hurled from a moving 4x4 vehicle. The attacks occurred between Sparkford and South Cadbury and resulted in several smashed windscreens, including those of cars and a coach. One witness reported that a “school bus with children” was among the targeted vehicles, describing the situation as “absolutely disgusting” and warning of the potential for a dangerous crash.
In addition to vehicle damage, a residential house also suffered a broken window after a full glass jar was thrown through it. Authorities believe the objects were launched from a dark-colored 4x4, notable for having no registration plate.
Fortunately, no injuries have been reported so far. Avon and Somerset Police have launched an investigation and are urging anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward. Neighbourhood Inspector Rose Green emphasized the severity of the behavior, calling it “incredibly dangerous” and a risk to public safety.
