School Bus and Multiple Vehicles Damaged as Objects Thrown from Moving 4x4 in Somerset

In Somerset, a series of unsettling incidents occurred yesterday afternoon when objects were hurled at moving vehicles, causing significant damage. Between 4 pm and 4:30 pm on Thursday, January 8, multiple cars and a coach suffered smashed windscreens along the route between Sparkford and South Cadbury.

Disturbingly, one witness reported that a “school bus with children” was among the vehicles targeted, heightening concerns about the safety risks posed by these attacks. The witness described the acts as “absolutely disgusting” and warned that they could have led to serious accidents.

Police investigations revealed that the projectiles were likely thrown from a dark-colored 4x4 vehicle that had no registration plate. The damage was not limited to vehicles; a house window was also shattered after a full glass jar was thrown through it.

Avon and Somerset Police confirmed the ongoing investigation and asked the public to report any relevant information by calling 101 with reference number 5226006988.
