The Bay, located on Weston-super-Mare’s seafront, faces imminent closure as part of the town’s regeneration project. The café, known for its welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff, is bidding farewell with an air of grace and appreciation. Its final day of trading is Easter Bank Holiday Monday, April 21st, 2025. As the clock ticks down, patrons have a limited window to savor the offerings at this cherished establishment.
During a recent visit, the ambiance of The Bay seemed untouched by its impending closure. The clean, airy layout and the amiable staff still radiated warmth. Indulging in a luxury hot chocolate, priced at £5.75, offered a moment of bittersweet reflection. The experience of watching the beverage being meticulously prepared, with its layers of velvety brew, mini marshmallows, and generous dollop of whipped cream and cinnamon, provided a fond memory.
Exploring the lunch menu unveiled the “vegan moving mountain burger,” which, unfortunately, fell short of its lofty name. Priced at £11, the dish lacked the grandeur one might expect, with a standard presentation that failed to excite the palate. While the hearty portion of chips provided a redeeming element, the overall impression left much to be desired.

Despite personal reservations about the culinary offerings, it is evident that the majority of patrons hold The Bay in high regard. With an impressive average rating of 4.5/5 stars from 671 Google reviews, it is clear that my experience stands as an outlier. While I may not wholeheartedly recommend The Bay for dining, it remains a worthwhile visit for its unique charm and impending closure.
As The Bay’s final day approaches, visitors have until Monday, April 21st, to partake in its offerings and bid adieu to a beloved community fixture.
