A Royal Mail delivery van overturned and landed on its side in the village of Somerton, Somerset, on Sunday, October 5. Emergency services swiftly responded to the incident after being alerted to a road traffic collision.
Devon and Somerset Fire & Rescue reported that Fire Control received an urgent call from South Western Ambulance Service requesting assistance with the crash. Fire crews from Somerton and Martock, along with an officer, were dispatched to the scene.
The single-vehicle accident involved the Royal Mail van, which had tipped onto its side. Firefighters carefully removed the van’s windscreen to free the trapped driver. Once released, the driver was assisted out of the vehicle, while crews ensured the area and vehicle were safe.

The driver suffered minor injuries and was attended to by paramedics at the scene before being taken for further medical evaluation.
