Sir Rod Stewart delivered a memorable performance at the Glastonbury Festival, captivating the crowd from the iconic Pyramid Stage during the prestigious Legends slot on Sunday afternoon. Joined by legendary guests including Mick Hucknall, Ronnie Wood, and Lulu, Rod’s 90-minute set was a vibrant celebration of his greatest hits, emotional moments, and a few lighthearted mishaps.
Kicking off with classics like “Maggie May,” “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?,” and “Sailing,” the set also featured a stirring tribute to the late Fleetwood Mac star Christine McVie, who passed away in November 2022. Rod honored her legacy by displaying her image on the big screen, creating a heartfelt moment that resonated deeply with fans.
Despite the soaring temperatures at Worthy Farm, fans packed tightly in front of the Pyramid Stage, cooling off with cups of water handed out by staff. The intense heat, however, presented challenges for Rod himself. He stepped offstage twice to change outfits, beginning in a jacket and long-sleeved white shirt before switching to a vibrant pink suit. Later, he surprised the audience with an additional costume change into a striking green suit during an instrumental interlude where the band performed “Lady Marmalade” in his absence.

The set wasn’t without its quirks. During the guest introductions, Rod called out Ronnie Wood first, who appeared promptly with his guitar, but Lulu was temporarily missing. Rod had to inform the crowd, “Oh, Lulu is coming on in a bit,” before she eventually joined in for a spirited duet of “Hot Legs” wearing a sharp white suit.
Another minor slip-up occurred as Rod started “Maggie May” a beat too early, but the crowd’s enthusiastic singalong quickly erased any awkwardness. Despite these small interruptions, the energy remained high throughout the performance.
Rod’s set ran slightly over time, partially due to these moments and the lively atmosphere. He acknowledged this late wrap-up with humor, telling the crowd, “We have got to get off the stage soon, we are done,” just before launching into the beloved finale, “Sailing.” He capped off the show by thanking all his guest performers, leaving fans with a festival performance to remember.
