Robbie Williams, the iconic pop star, revealed that he recently felt anxious before going on stage during his latest tour, which includes two upcoming nights in Bath. Despite his decades-long career, the 51-year-old artist shared that even he experiences nerves, and it was his wife, Ayda Field, who helped calm him during rehearsals.
Speaking at the launch of his Britpop tour in London, Robbie said, “I turned to my wife [Ayda] in rehearsals and said: ‘Babe, I’m anxious about this.’ She said, ‘Rob, you behave like this is normal, you behave like you have to do this for the rest of your life, you behave like stadiums is where you should be.'”
This moment sparked a shift in his perspective. The father of four — Teddy, 12; Charlie, 10; Coco, six; and Beau, four — explained that he now embraces the process of growing older alongside his fans. “In that moment, my perception changed. I might be in sniper’s alley — but I believe I have got a lot longer on this runway to go. I look forward to getting even older with you and I look forward to seeing you at many shows to come, whatever size venue that is,” he reflected.

Robbie also shared that his motivation for continuing his career goes beyond fame and fortune. With a reported net worth of £300 million, he emphasized that his music is ultimately for his children. “I remember why I do this. It is not for the glory, it is not for the money, it is because I have got four kids at home,” he said.
His candid reflections come shortly after opening up about a recent struggle with his mental health. Speaking to The Mirror, Williams revealed, “The year started with some ill mental health, which I haven’t had for a very, very long time. I was sad, I was anxious, I was depressed. It’s been about 10 years… I thought I was at the other end of the arc. I thought this was the end of my story, and that I would just go walking into this marvelous wonderland. So for it to return was just confusing.”
Through honesty and renewed perspective, Robbie Williams continues to connect with his audience—not only through his music but also through his human experience.
