Somerset continued their dominant form in the Vitality Blast with a convincing six-wicket win over Glamorgan on Friday. The key to their success was Australian pacer Riley Meredith, who delivered a brilliant bowling performance, taking 4 wickets for just 21 runs and restricting Glamorgan to a modest total of 130 for 9.
Somerset’s bowlers applied early pressure, limiting the hosts’ scoring opportunities and setting the stage for an easy chase. Despite Dan Douthwaite’s resilient 3 for 32, which offered some hope to Glamorgan, Somerset’s strong top order ensured there was never any real danger of an upset.
The chase began steadily with Tom Banton and Will Smeed starting cautiously in the first two overs before accelerating dramatically, scoring 41 runs off the next three overs. Tom Kohler-Cadmore contributed with a controlled yet aggressive innings, striking five boundaries in his 38 off 29 balls before falling to Douthwaite’s third wicket.

However, Sean Dickson and Lewis Gregory calmly guided Somerset across the finish line with more than three overs to spare, maintaining their position atop the South Group with seven wins from eight games as they head into the mid-season break.
