Revitalizing Weston: Office Block to Aparthotel

A dated office block in Weston-super-Mare is set to be transformed into a vibrant new aparthotel, as Bristol-based developers, the Boyce Group, receive planning permission to revamp the building located at the end of the High Street. The proposed aparthotel will feature 47 studio apartments and is expected to attract both contractors and families. The addition of two floors with lightweight timber frame construction aims to add a contemporary touch to the original structure.

Niall Leighton-Boyce, director of Boyce Group and its Nap accommodation brand, emphasized the significance of this project for Weston, stating, “The building no longer serves as desirable office space, so giving it a new lease of life is a win for the town.” He further expressed excitement for the potential impact on tourism, noting that the lack of quality short-term accommodation in the area has held back investment and tourism potential.

The North Somerset Council has approved the plans, acknowledging the positive contribution this redevelopment will make to the town center. The revitalization is anticipated to boost footfall, support the evening economy, and enhance the range and quality of accommodation available in the area.

With construction scheduled to commence in the summer, the development is expected to be completed within a year, aiming to open in time for the 2026 school holidays. This project signals a significant step in Weston’s journey to offer high-quality accommodation for its visitors, aligning with the town’s potential for further development and business activity.
