Local authorities have cautioned that smoke from the fire may contain hazardous chemicals. Consequently, residents within an 800-metre radius of the farm are advised to keep doors and windows closed as a safety precaution.
Avon and Somerset Police stated: “Unless instructed otherwise by emergency personnel, all residents within 800 metres of the farm should remain inside with doors and windows securely closed to minimize exposure to potentially harmful smoke.”
Residents within the cordoned-off zone who experience any health emergencies are urged to call 999 immediately. Those with pre-existing cardiovascular or respiratory conditions who notice worsening symptoms should seek advice through the NHS 111 online service or by calling 111.
