Residents Safely Evacuated After Kitchen Fire Causes Smoke Damage

On Wednesday, July 24, a kitchen fire prompted the evacuation of residents from a two-storey home in Bridgwater. At 12:34 PM, emergency services responded to a call reporting a fire originating in the kitchen.

Upon arrival, fire crews found that all occupants had safely vacated the property. The flames were concentrated around the hob and extractor hood, causing significant damage there, while smoke spread throughout the rest of the house.

Firefighters swiftly extinguished the fire using specialized equipment, including breathing apparatus, hose reel jets, a thermal imaging camera, and a battery-operated fan to ventilate the smoke-filled rooms. Thanks to their prompt response, no injuries were reported.
