A rare silver ‘coffee Biggin’ by legendary British silversmith Paul Storr is poised to spark excitement at an upcoming auction. The early 19th-century piece, esteemed at £4,000 to £6,000, will be showcased in a specialist sale of silver, jewellery, and watches by Charterhouse Auctioneers in Dorset. Richard Bromell, of Charterhouse Auctioneers, expressed, “This coffee Biggin would certainly have graced the table on a country house and has always been an expensive and desirable way to make your coffee!”
Paul Storr, known for his refined classical designs and craftsmanship, created the coffee Biggin in 1803. Uncovered after being tucked away in a vintage suitcase for over 25 years, along with a selection of other silver pieces, the historic find is expected to draw significant attention among collectors and enthusiasts.
