If you’ve ever dreamed of embarking on an extraordinary journey while testing your navigation and survival skills, now is your chance. Applications for the next series of BBC’s popular reality show, Race Across the World, are officially open.
The show challenges pairs—be it partners, family members, or friends—to travel vast distances across the globe without using phones, credit cards, or any modern conveniences. Instead, contestants rely on their wit and resourcefulness to make it to the finish line first.
Casting directors are searching for adventurous teams, particularly from Somerset and nearby areas, but applicants from anywhere are welcome to apply. The deadline to submit your application is March 29, 2026—so there’s still time to prepare.

Since launching in 2019, Race Across the World has featured 25 teams competing for the prestigious title, excluding celebrity editions. The latest series spanned from the Great Wall of China to the southern tip of India, where mother-son duo Caroline and Thomas triumphed despite early setbacks.
Past contestant Fin Gough, who took part in the previous season, strongly encourages hopefuls to apply. On TikTok, Fin said, “Honestly, you have nothing to lose—if you don’t get on, that’s it. But if you do, you’ll experience things money can’t buy and see parts of the world you’ve never imagined. It’s the journey of a lifetime. Even though we didn’t win, the experience was unbelievable and I wouldn’t change a thing.”
To apply, you’ll need a travel partner willing to commit to this incredible adventure. Both participants must be over 18 at the time of application and hold passports valid at least until July 31, 2027.
Don’t miss the chance to test your limits, see the world in a unique way, and compete for the ultimate prize. Gather your travel companion and apply before the March 29 deadline!
