Caroline Beaverstock, a 35-year-old resident of Combe Park, has been sentenced to eight months in prison after repeatedly violating a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) and committing numerous thefts in Bath.
Earlier this year, Beaverstock was convicted of 30 counts of theft, leading to the issuance of a three-year CBO in June aimed at curbing her criminal activity. Despite this, within just one month, she shoplifted 13 times from a local supermarket in Bath, breaching her CBO on 13 separate occasions.
On July 30, Bath Magistrates' Court handed down the sentence in response to her persistent offending. Neighbourhood Sergeant Tom Allwood-Coppin emphasized the serious impact of her actions: “Beaverstock’s persistent shoplifting is significantly affecting businesses in Bath. We are taking this matter very seriously, and it remains a focal point for our policing efforts.”

He further highlighted the importance of Criminal Behaviour Orders as a legal tool to manage repeat offenders. “Her repeated breaches have resulted in a substantial prison sentence,” he added.
The court’s decision reflects a firm stance on tackling persistent shoplifting and protecting the local community from ongoing theft-related harm.
