Princess Andre, the 18-year-old daughter of Peter Andre and Katie Price, has courageously opened up about the difficult moments she experienced during her childhood. As she begins carving out her own path as an influencer, Princess reveals that her past was marked by emotional struggles she wishes had been eased.
In her new ITV2 series, The Princess Diaries, she candidly talks about the “dark times” she endured. Despite growing up in the public eye, Princess shares a heartfelt admission: she wishes she had enjoyed a happier childhood rather than carrying heavy burdens from a young age.
Princess reflected on the impact of her mother Katie Price’s high-profile and turbulent relationships. In particular, the divorce from Peter Andre and the later split from Kieran Hayler deeply affected her. Speaking openly, she said, “I did have a counsellor, I do still see her occasionally. But I don’t always feel like I can talk, so I write everything down in my notes. I wish I could have had a happier childhood because I had so many things on my plate at a young age.”

She recounted how, following her mother’s breakup with Kieran when Princess was just 10 years old, life became increasingly challenging. Katie and Kieran’s turbulent eight-year marriage was fraught with difficulties, including cheating allegations, leading to a formal separation in 2018 and eventual divorce in 2021.
Princess explained the emotional toll this took on her family: “Everything kind of went downhill. We became really close to Kieran and loved him. My mum, obviously heartbroken, went through very dark times, which is understandable. It was hard because I was exposed to adult problems no child should see. And when we needed mum emotionally, she couldn’t be fully there because of her own struggles.”
She shared moments of vulnerability, saying she would sometimes come home from school early just to “get into bed and cry.” While she maintains a close relationship with her father Peter, Princess admits she never discussed these feelings with him, aware that their relationship with each other has long been strained.
Despite the hardships, Princess notes that her mum has made significant progress. “I wouldn’t say I’m fully healed from everything yet, but mum is such a different person now. If you compared her now to back then, she’s genuinely really started to fix herself.”
Princess Andre’s honest reflections shed light on the emotional complexities behind the public image, offering a poignant look into the challenges of growing up amidst family turmoil.
