Princess Andre, the 18-year-old daughter of Katie Price and Peter Andre, has opened up about the emotional turmoil she experienced growing up amidst her mother’s turbulent relationship with Kieran Hayler. Speaking in a recent documentary episode, she revealed that she “hasn’t recovered” from the split and often wished for a simpler, more carefree childhood, saying she had “so many things on my plate at a young age.”
While Princess cherishes many wonderful memories with both her parents, she also acknowledged the emotional hardships she faced. Reflecting on her mother Katie Price’s marriage to Kieran Hayler—which began with a lavish wedding in the Bahamas in 2013 and ended in separation—Princess described how the breakup deeply affected the whole family. Katie’s struggles following the split were severe enough that she revealed contemplating suicide during a particularly dark period.
Princess shared, “He was in our lives for like five years so we got really close to him and obviously we loved him. When they split up everything kind of went downhill.” She described how her mother’s heartbreak led to difficult times: “She went through a very, very dark time, which is understandable.”

The teenager also spoke about the challenges of witnessing adult issues at such a young age, saying, “It was hard for me because I was around adulty things that kids should never see… when we needed our mum there, she wasn’t emotionally able to be there because she had so much of her own problems going on.”
Adding to the family’s distress was the relentless media scrutiny they faced during these tough times, an intrusion that often left Princess feeling frustrated. Despite the pain, she explained that she refrains from discussing these issues with her father due to the complexities of their parents’ broken relationship.
Princess expressed that while she can talk openly about her childhood, moments of reflection sometimes trigger unresolved emotions: “I can speak about my childhood and everything that happened and I’d be absolutely fine, but then once something sets me off I deep dive everything and I’m like ‘oh my God’… it makes me feel like I’m not really healed from what’s happened.”
However, there is a hopeful note: Princess revealed her mum has “fixed herself” and apologized for past behaviors, helping the family to heal and grow closer. “I love her, she’s like my best friend,” Princess said warmly.
Since launching her modelling career with PrettyLittleThings last year, Princess is now stepping into the reality TV spotlight, poised to carve out her own niche in the entertainment world. Inspired by her famous parents, she aims to make a name for herself on her own terms, with a new show that focuses on her life while occasionally featuring Katie and Peter as cameo appearances.
