Princess Andre has shared a touching and honest reflection on her childhood while discussing her new ITV2 series, ‘The Princess Diaries.’ As the only daughter of Katie Price and Peter Andre, Princess has endured a complicated upbringing, marked by emotional hardships and family turmoil.
The 18-year-old revealed that her parents' very public divorce deeply affected her, saying, “I did have a counsellor, I do still see her every now and then.” Princess also admitted she finds it difficult to open up verbally, often choosing to express her feelings through writing. “I don’t feel like I can really talk, so I just write everything down in my notes,” she explained. She expressed a longing for a happier childhood, noting the heavy burdens she carried from a young age.
Reflecting on her early years, Princess recounted both the good times and the struggles, particularly during the breakdown of her mother Katie Price’s marriage to Kieran Hayler. The couple, married for eight years and parents of two children, had a turbulent relationship full of challenges, including public cheating allegations. Their separation was finalized in 2018, though their marriage officially ended in 2021.

Princess described how the family situation impacted her, saying, “Everything kind of went downhill” as she and her siblings became close to Kieran. She also opened up about her mother’s emotional struggles during that period, revealing, “My mum, obviously being heartbroken, didn’t deal with that in the best way, she went through a very, very dark time, which is understandable.”
The young star spoke candidly about how these adult issues affected her childhood, often leaving her feeling alone and vulnerable. “I would come home from school early and get into bed and cry,” she said. Princess admitted she keeps her feelings to herself around her father and acknowledged the ongoing tension between her parents. “I’ve always grown up knowing my mum and dad don’t like each other.”
Despite these hardships, Princess remains hopeful about healing. She concluded, “I wouldn’t say I’m fully, fully recovered from it but mum is such a different person and if you put her now to back then, she’s genuinely really fixed herself.”
