Princess Andre, daughter of Peter Andre and Katie Price, has courageously revealed the emotional challenges she faced during her childhood. At just 18 years old, the young star is stepping out on her own with her new ITV2 series, The Princess Diaries, where she gives a heartfelt account of the “dark times” she endured.
Growing up in the shadow of famous parents hasn’t been easy for Princess. She admits that despite some good moments, many aspects of her early years were far from carefree. She shared, “I did have a counsellor, I do still see her every now and then. But I don’t feel like I can really talk, so I just write everything down in my notes. I do wish, like, I could have had a more happier childhood. In the sense of like, I had so many things on my plate at a young age.”
Her candid reflection highlights the emotional weight she carried, particularly during her mother Katie Price’s highly publicized breakup from Kieran Hayler. Princess revealed the turmoil at home deeply affected her and her siblings, who grew close to Kieran despite the family tensions.

“My mum, obviously being heartbroken, didn’t deal with that in the best way, she went through a very, very dark time, which is understandable,” Princess explained. She also described witnessing situations no child should endure, and how her mother’s emotional struggles meant she wasn’t always able to offer the support they needed.
Princess opened up about moments when she would come home from school early just to “get into bed and cry,” illustrating the intense sadness she grappled with privately. Though she remains close to her father, Peter Andre, she rarely discusses these painful feelings with him, acknowledging the strained relationship between her parents.
While Princess admits she hasn’t fully healed from these experiences, she has noticed significant changes in her mother over time. “Mum is such a different person and if you put her now to back then, she’s genuinely really fixed herself,” she noted with optimism.
Through her honesty, Princess Andre shines a light on the complexities of growing up in a fractured family and underscores the importance of resilience and healing.
