Preston Church of England Primary School in Yeovil is marking an incredible milestone—150 years since it first opened its doors to local children. Throughout the decades, the school has remained a cornerstone of the community, continuing to nurture and educate generations of pupils.
To celebrate this historic achievement, the school is hosting a special afternoon of events on Friday, June 27, starting at 1:30 pm. Parents, carers, pupils, staff, and former members of the school community are warmly invited to join the festivities.
The celebration promises a vibrant program, including lively performances by the children and an exhibition showcasing the school’s rich history. It will also be an opportunity for current and past staff, parents, and pupils to connect and reflect on 150 years of educational excellence.

Headteacher Claire Hodgson expressed her excitement in a recent letter to families: “With just over seven weeks until the summer holidays, we have so much to look forward to. One of the highlights is unquestionably our 150th anniversary celebration on June 27, and we are delighted to welcome all families to join us for this momentous occasion.”
