Avon and Somerset Police have released CCTV images of three men they wish to speak to in connection with a racially aggravated incident that occurred in Bath. The event involved a victim being approached and surrounded by a group before a comment perceived to be driven by racial hatred was made.
The men of interest are described as white males, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall. One is a slim man in his 50s with grey hair; another is in his twenties with a medium build and short dark hair; and the third is around 18 years old, also medium build, with short brown hair.
The incident took place near the Walcot House restaurant on Walcot Street and is being treated as a hate crime. Neighbourhood Chief Inspector Scott Hill said, “This appalling incident has understandably caused distress to the victim, who has been offered support services as the investigation proceeds. We take hate crimes extremely seriously and emphasize that there is no place for hatred in our communities.”
