Avon and Somerset Police have released a photo of a man they wish to trace in connection with an incident at a church on Billet Street, Taunton. The man is suspected of attempting to force open a charity donations box inside the church around 3pm on Saturday, April 18.
Although no money was taken during the incident, police are eager to identify the individual to assist with their ongoing investigation. The suspect is described as a white male aged between 50 and 60, with brown hair that is short on the sides and thinning on top. He was last seen wearing a beige cable-knit sweatshirt over a light hooded jumper, blue jeans, and carrying a blue rucksack.
Extensive CCTV footage and house-to-house inquiries have already been conducted, but investigators now appeal to the public for further information. A spokesperson from Avon and Somerset Police emphasized that there is no evidence linking this event to any other similar incidents, nor is there any broader threat to the community.
