A 14-year-old girl remains seriously injured after a collision resulting from a police pursuit involving a stolen vehicle.
The incident occurred on Sunday, February 1, on the A350 road between Chippenham and Lacock when Wiltshire Police officers attempted to stop a vehicle suspected of being stolen. The stolen vehicle, driven by 34-year-old Patrick McCann of Walnut Avenue, Hillingdon, crashed into a Volkswagen Transporter during the chase.
The young girl involved was immediately rushed to Southmead Hospital, where she continues to receive treatment for her serious injuries.

Following the incident, Patrick McCann appeared at Swindon Magistrates Court on February 3. He was charged with multiple offences, including failing to stop for police, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, escaping lawful custody, breaching a court order, and taking a vehicle without consent. McCann did not enter a plea and has been remanded in custody ahead of his next hearing at Swindon Crown Court on March 6.
