A Wiltshire Police officer has been charged with drink driving after an off-duty incident in Swindon. The 19-year-old officer, PC Ted Andrews, was found to have blown over the legal alcohol limit during the event, which occurred on September 20 at Swindon’s Magic Roundabout.
According to the police force, PC Andrews was identified as the driver of a vehicle that had broken down at the location. Following the incident, he was suspended from active duty pending further proceedings.
PC Andrews has been formally charged with drink driving and has been granted bail to appear before Oxford Magistrates’ Court on November 4. Wiltshire Police has confirmed the charges and reiterated the suspension of PC Andrews during the ongoing investigation.
