A woman in her 70s was hospitalized following a collision between a marked police car and a black Mini Cooper on the A350 near Chippenham, Wiltshire, shortly after midday on Wednesday, June 3.
The crash occurred on the northbound carriageway between Malmesbury Roundabout and the M4. Emergency services promptly attended the scene. The passenger in the Mini Cooper sustained injuries that are reported as neither life-changing nor life-threatening. She was transported to hospital for treatment.
The Mini’s driver, a man also in his 70s, and the sole police officer in the responding vehicle were both assessed at the scene by paramedics and released without the need for hospital care.

The A350 was temporarily closed to allow for a thorough investigation but has since reopened. No arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
Wiltshire Police have referred the case to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) because of the circumstances surrounding the collision.
