Police Arrest Two Teens Following Serious Assault in Taunton

Two teenagers have been arrested after a boy sustained potentially life-changing injuries in a serious assault in Taunton. The attack occurred on Monday, November 24, around 5:50 pm in Priorswood Place.

Emergency services responded quickly, and the victim, a boy in his mid-teens, was rushed to hospital with severe injuries. Police arrested the victim, a boy in his mid-teens, and an 18-year-old man on suspicion of wounding with intent. Both remain in police custody as investigations continue.

Initially, a police cordon was established at the scene but has since been lifted. Officers have been conducting thorough inquiries, including CCTV reviews, forensic examinations, and door-to-door investigations in the area.

The victim is currently in a stable condition, according to police statements. Authorities believe all parties involved know each other, and no broader threat to the community is anticipated.

Neighbourhood Inspector Steve Jones commented, “We were alerted to a serious assault in Priorswood Place and responded immediately. While the injuries are serious, the victim’s condition is stable. Support services will be offered as needed.”

He reassured residents that this distressing event is isolated and emphasized ongoing community outreach efforts, including visits to local schools to provide advice and reassurance.
