A man has been arrested following reports of reckless driving on the M5 motorway, where a vehicle was seen swerving dangerously between lanes at excessive speed.
The incident took place on the southbound carriageway of the M5 between junction 16 at Almondsbury and junction 21 at Weston-super-Mare on Sunday, June 7, between 10:30 am and 11:00 am. The vehicle involved is believed to be a Ford Focus ST.
Avon and Somerset Police have conducted CCTV reviews, intelligence checks, and gathered witness statements as part of their ongoing investigation. A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, driving over the alcohol limit, and possession of a Class A drug. He has since been released under investigation.

Authorities are appealing to drivers who were on the motorway at that time and may have dashcam footage capturing the incident or the suspect vehicle leading up to it.
