A new care home is set to be developed on Marston Road, Frome, following a planning application submitted to Somerset Council by JLL Planning on behalf of Liberty Care Developments. The proposed residential care facility will offer 76 bedrooms with en-suite wet room facilities, dedicated to providing 24-hour nursing and specialist dementia care for elderly residents with complex needs.
In addition to comfortable living spaces, the care home will boast communal gardens and a sensory garden as part of a carefully curated landscaping plan. Residents will also enjoy amenities such as a hair salon, activities room, and visitor lounge, designed to enhance their quality of life.
The application marks the culmination of extensive pre-application discussions with Somerset Council. Liberty Care has worked diligently to refine the design to ensure that it fits harmoniously within the local environment without impacting neighboring properties and businesses adversely.

Ashley Heath, Director at Liberty Care Developments, commented, “After thorough collaboration with Somerset Council, we are proud to submit this application. The design has been meticulously considered to deliver a best-in-class care facility that will greatly benefit the Frome community.”
Addressing a clear shortage of suitable care accommodation in Frome, the development plans to transform an underused site into a vibrant care home, while generating approximately 75 full-time jobs for local residents.
Adam Price, planning consultant at JLL, added, “This proposal is a sustainable and necessary response to the increasing demand for quality care services in Frome. With a growing elderly population and rising cases of dementia, modern, purpose-built care homes are vital in meeting the diverse needs of the community.”
