Picture-Perfect Bath Park Named One of the UK’s Best Green Spaces

Bath’s Royal Victoria Park has been officially recognized as one of the UK’s top parks, earning praise as a “hidden gem” beloved by locals and visitors alike. The park secured seventh place in a comprehensive ranking of over 50 UK parks, released just as the country faces a heatwave.

The ranking, conducted by idealo, evaluated parks based on a combination of factors including user ratings, monthly Google search volume, and social media presence on platforms like Instagram and TikTok.

Royal Victoria Park boasts a notable rating of 4.5 out of 5 and attracts approximately 201,000 Google searches each month, highlighting its strong appeal. Despite having a relatively modest social media footprint—with just over 2,000 Instagram posts and 15 TikTok videos—the park’s true allure lies in its peaceful atmosphere and beautifully landscaped gardens.

Opened in 1830 by Princess Victoria when she was just 11 years old, the park has a rich history as a public pleasure ground. Initially managed and funded by affluent Bath residents, it was eventually transferred to local council care in 1921, ensuring its preservation and continued enjoyment.

The iconic Royal Victoria Park offers a serene escape, blending natural beauty with historical significance, and stands out as a must-visit sanctuary among the UK’s finest green spaces.
