Peter Andre’s Wife Emily Opens Up on Parenting Katie Price’s Children

Emily MacDonagh, wife of singer Peter Andre, has spoken candidly about her unique role as stepmother to Junior and Princess Andre, Peter’s children with ex-wife Katie Price. Her comments come in the wake of Katie Price’s claims that she was excluded from Princess’s recent 18th birthday celebrations.

During an interview on the Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast with Giovanna Fletcher, Emily—who is also an NHS doctor—shared her thoughtful approach to parenting her stepchildren. At 35, and mother to three children with Peter, she emphasizes the importance of respecting boundaries due to the complexity of the family dynamics.

Emily explained, “I always feel like, you know, I’m not their mum, and that’s something I always have to make sure I tread carefully with. I see it a bit more like being a big sister.” She added, “I try to give them guidance without overstepping, and I support them as I would my own kids.”

On managing her children’s discipline, Emily described herself as firm but fair—particularly strict regarding screen time. She said, “I always try and be the same. I’m quite strict with my kids on silly rules like screen time. Luckily, there’s an age gap between them and my stepchildren, so the older kids are exempt.”

Emily further clarified, “The age gap means my kids don’t question why the stepchildren are treated differently when it comes to screens.”

Her openness offers a rare glimpse into blended family life, especially amid ongoing tensions reported between Katie Price and Peter Andre’s circle. Katie, 47, recently expressed frustrations on her podcast about being sidelined in her daughter Princess’s adulthood celebrations.

On ‘The Katie Price Show,’ Katie lamented that she wasn’t allowed to be seen with Princess at times due to restrictions from an agency that manages Peter and the children. She shared, “Certain people don’t think it’s good for Princess to be seen with me,” referring to individuals connected to her former management.

Katie’s sister, Sophie, reacted with humor but also supported her sibling’s feelings, while Katie sincerely insisted, “It’s pathetic. I’m her mother.” She also highlighted the strong bond she maintains with Princess despite any backstage conflicts.

When asked why she wasn’t invited to the 18th birthday party, Katie revealed it was due to filming commitments, adding another layer to the complex family situation.

Emily’s remarks, contrasted with Katie’s candid statements, illustrate the delicate balance in blended families and the care required to nurture relationships amid public scrutiny.
