Peter Andre has revealed that he implemented strict rules for his daughter Princess while she was filming her ITV documentary series, The Princess Diaries. The show offers viewers an intimate look at Princess’s life growing up in the spotlight.
Princess, who he shares with ex-wife Katie Price, has been candid about her experiences, but Katie recently expressed frustration, claiming she was barred from participating in the reality series during a podcast episode.
Despite the family tensions, Peter praised Princess’s commitment to the four-part series. In an interview, he admitted it was challenging to “cut that umbilical cord at 18,” reflecting on her journey towards independence as she enters adulthood.

Peter said, “I was very strict about what she wasn’t allowed to do. I didn’t want her involved in a lot of things until she was mature enough to handle them herself.” He added that he’s proud of her loyalty and character, hoping the public recognizes the “sweet person” she is and allowing her to “shine as her own true gem.”
He also acknowledged the difficulty of letting go, saying, “They might be grown up in age, but they’re still your baby.”
This candidness follows Peter’s public statement addressing false claims from Katie and her family regarding their children’s welfare and living arrangements. In his Instagram post, Peter clarified that, for their safety, Princess and their son Junior have been primarily in his care since 2018 under a legally binding court order.
Katie responded on social media, admitting her struggles with drugs, alcohol, and mental health, and acknowledging she hasn’t always been the mother or partner she aspired to be.
The feud intensified when Katie’s former husband, Alex Reid, shared a video showing Katie counting money and dismissing Peter’s younger children with his current wife, Emily, as “irrelevant.” She questioned Princess about Peter’s knowledge of her financial troubles.
An insider described Peter as “shocked” by the video and upset that such matters were discussed in front of their daughter, emphasizing that his concern is not about money, but about the wellbeing of the children involved.
