Peter Andre Responds to ‘Nepo Baby’ Claims Amid Daughter Princess' Exciting TV News

Peter Andre has spoken out against the label “nepo baby,” highlighting that children of famous parents often work just as hard to earn their own success. His response comes as his 18-year-old daughter, Princess, revealed that her ITV reality show, The Princess Diaries, has been commissioned for two more series.

In his weekly column for New! Magazine, Peter empathized with Apple Martin, daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin, who has faced similar “nepo baby” criticism. He wrote, “Whether a family is full of actors, dentists, accountants, or teachers, it’s natural for children to follow in their parents' footsteps because they’ve grown up around it.”

Peter challenged the unfair scrutiny young celebrities often face, stating, “I don’t understand why young people in entertainment are singled out. Even if given opportunities, they must have talent and put in the hard work to achieve lasting success.”

The term “nepo baby” refers to individuals perceived to benefit professionally solely from their parents’ fame rather than their own dedication. Princess, who Peter co-parents with his ex-wife and former glamour model Katie Price, is carving her own path in showbiz much like her family before her.

The Princess Diaries debuted on ITV earlier this year and quickly gained a following. Princess recently shared her excitement about the show’s future: “I’m thrilled to announce not just one, but two more series coming in 2026. I can’t wait to share more with everyone. Thank you all for your love and support!”

Peter’s eldest son, Junior, is also pursuing a music career, eager to create his own identity independent of his father’s legacy. When asked about advice from Peter, Junior told OK! Magazine, “I’m my own man. I learn from life and my own experiences, just like anyone else.”
