Peter Andre Opens Up on Heartbreaking Decline of Mum as She Turns 90

Peter Andre has revealed the emotional challenges he faces as his mother, Thea, approaches her 90th birthday amid serious health struggles. Diagnosed with both Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s in 2023, Thea can no longer speak, a development that has deeply affected the ‘Mysterious Girl’ singer.

Living in Australia, Thea’s condition has prompted Peter to offer openness about his family’s experience in the hope it might support others navigating similar hardships. Writing in his column for new! magazine, Peter shared, “While it can be really hard to talk about, I’m hoping my story helps those going through similar things.”

Despite the difficulties, Peter finds comfort in the daily interactions with his mother via FaceTime, often twice a day. His youngest daughter, Belle, 21 months old, expresses her affection over video calls, babbling to her grandmother even though Thea can no longer respond. “Belle just babbles to her, it’s the sweetest thing,” Peter said. Their bond extends to her grandfather as well, with whom Belle eagerly chats, brightening Peter’s days during these trying times.

Thea and Peter’s father, who turned 93 this year, recently celebrated an incredible 70 years of marriage—a milestone that resonates deeply with Peter. “Seeing their decline is tough, but it’s made me cherish life and appreciate every moment more,” he reflected.

Peter has also publicly feared that last Christmas might have been his mother’s final holiday with the family due to the progression of her illnesses. A heartfelt video he shared featured Belle blowing a kiss to her grandfather, capturing the love that persists despite the physical distance and illness.

Alongside his youngest children, Belle, Amelia, and Theo, Peter also has two older children, Junior and Princess, from his previous marriage to Katie Price. Throughout all of this, he remains grateful for the time spent with his parents and children, emphasizing the importance of cherishing each precious moment.

The public has responded with an outpouring of support after Peter’s candid posts, praising his openness and the family’s resilience. Messages highlight the comfort technology provides, allowing the family to stay connected across continents even in the face of debilitating illness.

Peter’s update is a poignant reminder of the impact of diseases like Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s, underscoring the enduring strength of family bonds amid adversity.
