Peter Andre on Princess and Junior’s Desire to Join I’m A Celeb

Peter Andre has opened up about a reality TV guideline he set for his children, Junior and Princess, after they revealed their enthusiasm to participate in the popular show I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here.

At 52, Peter is the father of Junior, 20, and Princess, 18, from his former marriage to Katie Price. Despite their separation 16 years ago, the former couple remains in the public eye due to ongoing disputes, as reported by the Mirror.

Katie and Peter first connected on the I’m A Celebrity show in 2004, eventually marrying the following year. Recently, Junior and Princess expressed their eagerness to follow in their parents’ footsteps by taking on the jungle challenge.

Junior told Good Morning Britain, “It’s in our DNA a little bit," while Princess added, “We are the first born from there. Mum and dad met on the show and had us. I would love to do it – even though I’d be petrified for my life.”

Princess also emphasized their bond, saying, “Personally, I would not go on it without you. I feel like that’s something we’ve always said we’d do together. I wouldn’t do it without him and he wouldn’t do it without me.”

Peter weighed in on the kids' ambitions, telling GMB it would be “great” to see them on the show. However, he clarified, “Most shows, whenever they say, ‘Would you want me to do that?’ [That was] when they were younger. They’re adults now - they can do what they like.”

He shared his original advice: “I’d rather you think about presenting a show rather than being a contestant. Except for that show. I think on that show, they would be great contestants.”

Peter reflected on how the show challenges participants, noting, “It brings a lot out of you. It’s just you – there’s no phones. My daughter without a phone! We didn’t have that back then.”

Peter’s comments come amid ongoing public tension with Katie, who recently made remarks on her podcast that appeared to address their parenting relationship. Katie expressed feelings of exclusion regarding decisions about their children, underlining her enduring role as their mother.

Separately, it was reported that Peter and his wife Emily have stepped back from participating in Princess’s ITV reality show. An insider suggested the decision aims to allow Princess to shine independently, avoiding any conflict between her parents. Now an adult, Princess is stepping confidently into her own spotlight.
