Peter Andre Gains Major Exposure as Crime Drama Premieres in the US

Peter Andre is set to enjoy a significant boost in his international profile as his crime drama series, The Sunshine Murders, debuts in the United States.

The show will air on UPtv at 8 PM on Thursday, September 4, 2025. Andre, 52, stars as Greek pathologist Dr. George Constantinos. The series, which also premieres in the UK on Channel 5 on September 8 and later airs in Australia, marks an important milestone in Andre’s acting career.

Reflecting on the opportunity, Peter Andre told the Daily Mirror, “From studying acting as a child to now starring in a 10-part international TV drama alongside such phenomenal actors is truly a great feeling.”

The Sunshine Murders was primarily filmed in Cyprus, the home country of Andre’s parents, with additional scenes shot in Athens, Greece, and New Zealand. The storyline follows New Zealand farmer Shirley Rangi (Emily Corcoran), who travels to Athens to meet her half-sister, detective Helen Moustakas (Dora Chrysikou), while they search for their missing father. Together, they collaborate on solving various crimes while uncovering family secrets.

In addition to Andre, the series features Emily Corcoran and Dora Chrysikou, along with Dynasty star Stephanie Beacham as Lady Gloria Whitten-Soames and former EastEnders actress Nina Wadia as Barbara Boxhall.

Andre originally auditioned for a one-off role using his authentic Greek accent. His performance impressed the creators so much that they extended his part to the entire series. “I got a message from Emily and her mum saying they were so impressed with my Greek accent they wanted me for the whole series,” Andre shared. “Getting to perform in my native accent makes it even more enjoyable.”

For many US viewers, this will be their first chance to hear Andre’s real speaking voice. He humorously predicts that American audiences might think he always speaks with a strong Greek accent. Writing in his latest column for New! magazine, Andre said, “It’s very exciting. It’ll be the first time US audiences have heard me speak, so they’ll probably think I always have a Greek accent.”

The Sunshine Murders marks a promising international chapter for Peter Andre, showcasing his acting talents and connecting him to audiences worldwide.
