Peter Andre and his wife, Dr. Emily MacDonagh, recently shared a touching and emotional moment following a heartfelt family decision. The couple, who welcomed their third child, Arabella, in April last year, have decided that their family is now complete.
Speaking candidly in Bella magazine, Peter, 52, described the moment of Arabella’s birth as “bittersweet.” He said, “When the baby was born, we looked at each other and we just had this look in our eyes… it was such a bittersweet moment, because we knew we both got emotional, and we knew it was the last time.” Alongside Arabella, Peter and Emily are also parents to Amelia and Theo.
Peter, who has two older children, Junior and Princess, with his former wife Katie Price, feels that Arabella “absolutely completes” his family. He also highlighted the differing parenting styles between him and Emily. As an NHS doctor, Emily applies her medical knowledge to parenting decisions, such as enforcing strict rules on limiting fizzy drinks for the children. Peter takes a complementary approach, focusing on teaching their children good manners.

Emily had previously opened up about the challenges of her third pregnancy and affirmed their decision to stop growing the family. On Giovanna Fletcher’s podcast Happy Mum Happy Baby, she said, “It’s absolutely cemented now but we always said it would be the last anyway. We don’t have any more bedrooms for starters, so that’s a good enough reason. The car is full. We don’t even have a seven seater anymore because Junior and Princess can drive.”
Emily also spoke warmly about the relationships between Peter’s children from his previous marriage and those he has with her. She noted the age gap helps, explaining, “The age gap is so big that it makes it easier because they’re not in competition with each other. Like the younger ones understand that there’s a different set of rules for the older ones because they’re grown ups.”
Peter and Emily’s relationship began uniquely when Emily’s father, Ruaraidh McDonagh, treated Peter for kidney stones. Over time, a strong bond formed, leading to their romance and eventual marriage in 2015 at Mamhead House and Castle in Devon.
Despite managing a busy household with four children, Peter and Emily make conscious efforts to spend quality time together. Emily told Heat Magazine, “It’s something we have to make an effort to do and, if I’m honest, we should do it more. We always say we ought to try and go for dinner once every two weeks… But we still try to make time for each other within our routine and working week. So, every night at home, we will sit together and watch TV, or have a conversation, just us, no distractions.”
Their story reflects a balanced partnership built on love, understanding, and commitment to family life.
