Peter Andre has broken his silence following critical comments made by his ex-wife, Katie Price, who recently cast doubt on his character in a pointed Instagram post. Katie, 47, suggested that some people maintain a “carefully managed image,” implying it may not reflect their true selves.
In an interview with The Telegraph, the “Mysterious Girl” singer, 52, who shares two children with Katie, refrained from directly addressing his ex-wife due to legal constraints. Instead, he reflected on his own reputation, emphasizing sincerity and consistency over perfection.
“Look, nobody’s perfect. No one’s perfect in this world. Everyone makes mistakes. But you get the measure of me by meeting me,” he said. “You’ll either think I’m too talkative and annoying, or you’ll think, ‘he’s alright, he’s harmless.’ Over time, you build a picture of someone based on consistency.”

The tension between Peter and Katie escalated after Katie claimed on her podcast that she was excluded from her daughter Princess’s ITV2 show, The Princess Diaries, suggesting she wasn’t invited to a filming-related party. The discord fueled further public statements from both sides.
Peter took to Instagram earlier this month to set the record straight, asserting that for 16 years he remained silent out of respect for his children but could no longer ignore repeated falsehoods from Katie and her family. He confirmed that since 2018, their children have been in his care under a legal agreement, a fact not previously publicized to protect the children’s privacy.
He also highlighted past court cases where Katie was ordered to pay damages for making unfounded claims against him. He expressed frustration at ongoing allegations and declared his intention to address further accusations through appropriate legal channels.
Katie’s spokesperson responded that she is now in a better mental space and has placed the matter in the hands of her lawyers, rejecting any attempts to “gaslight” or bully her as purported in the past.
Katie herself shared candid reflections on Instagram Stories, acknowledging her struggles with addiction, mental health, and personal mistakes. She candidly described her journey through adversity, recognizing her imperfections without using them as excuses. Yet she also criticized those who portray themselves as faultless “Saints,” implying some maintain inauthentic images by casting others as villains or “Sinners.”
She concluded with a message of resilience: encouraging others who have faced struggles to keep striving for improvement, and reminding everyone that it is okay not to be perfect.
