A tragic incident occurred this morning at Oldfield Park railway station in Somerset, resulting in the death of one individual. Emergency services, including British Transport Police, paramedics, and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene at 11:10 am on Wednesday, May 14.
Upon arrival, responders found the person on the tracks and pronounced them deceased at the scene. Initial assessments indicate that the death is not considered suspicious. Authorities are preparing a file for the coroner to determine the exact cause.
Brook Road, near the station, has been closed in both directions due to police activity. A local witness reported that police cordons have restricted access to the station for the time being.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police confirmed: “Officers were called to a report of a casualty on the tracks at 11.10 am today (14 May) near Oldfield Park railway station. Emergency personnel attended promptly, but sadly, the individual was pronounced dead. The incident is not regarded as suspicious, and a file will be forwarded to the coroner.”
