Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision involving a red Fiat 500 and a parked vehicle on the A361 Main Road in West Lyng, Somerset. The crash occurred around 9:30 pm on Saturday, January 17, but was only discovered the next morning.
Emergency services were called shortly after 10:30 am on Sunday, January 18, when the incident was found. Tragically, the sole occupant of the Fiat died at the scene. Although formal identification is pending, the authorities have located and are supporting the next of kin.
Avon and Somerset Police have closed the A361 to allow for a thorough investigation and vehicle recovery. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes while the road remains closed.
