A tragic incident occurred near Swindon on April 5, when a person was fatally struck by a train, according to British Transport Police.
Officers responded to reports of a casualty on the tracks at approximately 2:35pm on the Great Western Main Line. Despite the prompt arrival of paramedics, the individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is currently not being treated as suspicious, with a file set to be prepared for the coroner.

The accident caused significant disruption to train services, particularly affecting routes to London Paddington, with cancellations and delays reported throughout the day.
Great Western Railway confirmed the incident led to a complete halt of all rail lines in the affected area to ensure passenger and staff safety.
