A person was airlifted to hospital after being rescued from a vehicle involved in a two-car collision in Aller, near Langport, on Saturday, August 29.
The incident occurred at 1.35pm, prompting an immediate response from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service and police officers. Upon arrival, crews from Bridgwater and Somerton discovered that one individual was trapped inside one of the vehicles.
Working in coordination with the ambulance service, firefighters developed a careful plan to extract the trapped individual. Using stabilisation equipment, they safely assisted paramedics in removing the casualty with the aid of a scoop stretcher.

The critically injured person was then airlifted to hospital for further treatment. Other individuals involved in the collision sustained minor injuries.
Fire crews remained on scene until 5.20pm before handing over responsibility to the police and ambulance teams to continue managing the incident.
