One of the standout features was the outdoor hot tub on the deck. Time slipped away as we soaked under the star-filled sky, feeling utterly magical. By day, the lakeside views and the gentle chorus of songbirds provided an enchanting backdrop to a truly immersive nature experience.
Inside, the inviting fireplace was easy to light and became a cozy focal point. Sitting on the plush leather settee with a glass of wine, watching the flames dance, was deeply soothing and perfect for unwinding.
We chose to prepare a simple paella-inspired meal in the boathouse’s well-equipped kitchen. Despite initial hesitation about cooking away from home, the kitchen had everything expected, making the process enjoyable and successful.
Though the bathroom was on the smaller side, it was modern and featured a unique double sink vanity—an elegant touch rarely seen in similar accommodations.
For me, the bed is always critical on any getaway, and Orchardleigh did not disappoint. The large, exceptionally comfortable bed made falling asleep easy, even for someone who usually struggles in unfamiliar beds. Leaving it the next morning was undeniably tough.
After a quick breakfast, we couldn’t resist another dip in the hot tub, savoring those final moments of tranquility before heading back.
