Pedestrian Fatality on A38 in Somerset Under Investigation

A man in his mid-50s was found critically injured on the A38 Bridgwater Road in Winscombe early Friday morning, January 30, and has sadly died at the scene.

The incident occurred between Fox Lane and Fullers Lane around 12:10 a.m. Emergency services and Avon and Somerset Police responded promptly, but the man succumbed to his injuries. His next of kin have been informed.

The A38 remains closed as police continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. At this early stage, it is unclear how the man sustained his injuries. Authorities are considering all possibilities, including a collision with a vehicle whose driver may have failed to stop.
