A tragic collision in Bath city centre led to the death of a pedestrian after being struck by a motorcycle. The incident occurred on October 11 shortly before 7:40 PM on the A36 Rossiter Road and involved a blue Yamaha motorcycle and a pedestrian in his 60s. Following the initial impact, the motorcyclist collided with a grey Ford Transit van.
The pedestrian was rushed to the hospital but sadly passed away on October 27. His family has been informed and is receiving support from a specially trained police officer. The motorcyclist was also hospitalized with serious injuries but has since been discharged.
Avon and Somerset Police are actively investigating the case and are calling on anyone who witnessed the accident or captured footage of it or the moments leading up to it to come forward. The collision resulted in the closure of the road between Churchill Bridge and Pulteney Road as authorities conducted investigations and recovery operations.
