A tragic loss has deeply affected the community of Trowbridge as Benjamin Swift, a devoted father of three, passed away in the garden of his home on Monday, August 25. The 39-year-old was found at his address in Whiterow Park at approximately 9:30 pm.
Benjamin’s partner of nearly five years, Cheyanne, shared a heartfelt tribute through Wiltshire Police, painting a picture of a loving family man whose devotion touched everyone who knew him.
“He was such a kind and gentle soul who truly cherished his family,” Cheyanne said. “Benjamin was a proud father to three children aged 15, 12, and two years old. He would go to any lengths to support and care for them.”

A skilled joiner who spent his life in Wiltshire, Benjamin learned his craft as an apprentice shortly after leaving school. Cheyanne reflected on his passion for his work and the joy he found in creating.
“He loved his job and took great pride in his craftsmanship. Beyond work, he was always spending time with the children—whether building things for them, gardening, or playing football. He embodied what it meant to be a real family man.”
Known and loved by many, Benjamin had a wide circle of friends and was cherished within his community. Cheyanne expressed the profound loss felt by all who knew him.
“I feel incredibly lucky to have shared my life with Benjamin, and I know many others feel the same. His memory will live on forever, and he will never be forgotten.”
Authorities investigating Benjamin’s death have stated that the circumstances are currently classified as non-suspicious. Two men initially arrested in connection with the case have been released without further action and are no longer considered suspects.
