The parents of 10-year-old Oliver Price, who tragically lost his life in a bus crash near Minehead, have expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the community and emergency responders. Oliver was one of the students returning to Minehead Middle School on Thursday, July 17, when the coach slid 20 feet down an embankment on the A396, resulting in his death at the scene.

In a statement released via Devon and Cornwall Police, Oliver’s parents, Lucy and Matthew Price, praised the swift response of emergency services and the ongoing support provided to those injured. “We have witnessed firsthand the incredible care and compassion from the community following this terrible accident,” they said. They also extended thanks to the staff and parents of Minehead Middle School and the Rest and Be Thankful pub in Wheddon Cross, which offered a welcoming space for families affected by the crash.

The couple sent their best wishes for recovery to the other children and staff hospitalized and thanked everyone who left messages and floral tributes outside the school. They also expressed appreciation for the police investigation team’s commitment during this difficult and complex process.
