Ostrich Burgers, Sushi Burritos, and Cream Teas on a 60s Bus: The Most Unusual Food at Glastonbury 2024

Attending Glastonbury Festival often means splurging on tickets, camping gear, and travel. By the time you get there, food expenses can add up quickly. But if you’re going to spend a small fortune on festival grub, why not go for something truly unique?

With 354 food stalls to explore, there’s more to eat than the usual pizza, salads, and sandwiches. Here are some of the kookiest culinary offerings at Glasto 2024.

First up: Ostrich burgers. Ostriches are tough birds, and transforming one into a burger is no small feat. Why try ostrich meat? For starters, it’s a lean, protein-rich alternative to beef, packed with iron and low in fat. Plus, grazing on this distinctive meat pays homage to the brave farmers who work with these giant birds. You can find “I Love Ostrich” near The Other Stage, where artists like Busta Rhymes and Franz Ferdinand perform. Best of all, it’s part of the £6 deal!

If ostrich isn’t your style, how about a burger glazed with homemade Jack Daniels sauce or even a peanut butter-topped creation? Cheeky Burger offers these adventurous options at The Village Inn near West Holts, home to performances by En Vogue and Doechii. Note: it’s not included in the £6 deal.

Craving something that blends Japanese and Mexican flavors? Happy Maki’s sushi burritos are the answer. Wrapped in giant seaweed sheets stuffed with rice and classic sushi fillings, they’re perfect for those who can’t decide between sushi and burritos. Plus, their offerings are 100% vegan—a considerate choice for compassion-minded festivalgoers. You’ll find them at Silver Hayes and Left Field stages, near acts like Groove Armada and Katy B. Not part of the £6 deal.

For a spiritual and vegetarian option, the Hare Krishna Tent in Pennard Ground Hill serves complimentary curry and rice after a brief religious presentation. If you’re open-minded about spirituality and in need of a hearty meal, this is a serene spot away from the buzz.

Supporting local producers is a big trend, and Glastonbury embraces it with Milk Masquerade. Serving fresh milk from Worthy Farm’s own cows, this is arguably the cheapest and freshest pint at the festival. They also offer iced coffee. Find Milk Masquerade scattered across multiple stages, including Pyramid Stage, where performers like The 1975 and Olivia Rodrigo take the spotlight.

Finally, for those craving a sit-down meal, the Tea Stop offers a nostalgic experience inside a retro 60s bus. Enjoy classic cream teas while taking a breather from the standing-room-only food areas. Located on The Pavement, near quirky acts like Mr Peewee the Drumming Puppet, the Tea Stop is a popular destination—expect queues!

This year’s Glastonbury food scene blends innovation, tradition, and local flavor, giving every attendee a chance to try something new. So when hunger strikes, step beyond the ordinary and savor the festival’s kookiest eats.
