Corrie Moore, a 25-year-old from Beech Road, Bridgwater, known for a staggering record of over 50 offences, has been released on bail and is currently back on the streets as he awaits sentencing scheduled for July. Moore has admitted to five specific charges and faces dozens more that will be considered during his upcoming court hearing.
He appeared at North Somerset Magistrates' Court on May 13 and has been remanded to appear again before magistrates in Taunton on July 3. Moore faces charges including three counts of theft and two counts of assault linked to incidents occurring last month across Bridgwater.
On April 2, Moore entered a Taunton Road shop, assaulted a staff member, and stole food and laundry detergent. The following day, he visited a supermarket on Westonzoyland Road where he again assaulted an employee and stole Easter eggs along with other food items. On April 7, Moore stole two fishing rods from a store on Bath Road.

He was arrested on April 21 and charged with these offences. Beyond these incidents, 52 additional offences are to be taken into account during sentencing.
Detective Inspector Jim Fowler of Avon and Somerset Police stated, “Shoplifting causes significant harm to our communities, and we take it very seriously. Shop staff should never have to face assault while doing their jobs. We remain committed to ensuring those responsible are held accountable through the justice system.
“Corrie Moore is a prolific offender who has shown blatant disregard not only for the safety of shop staff but has also inflicted considerable financial damage on local businesses. We’re working closely with businesses to improve reporting mechanisms and encourage anyone affected by similar crimes to report them so we can take effective action, just as we have in this case.”
