The Crown at Keyford, the oldest pub in the Somerset town of Frome, is once again up for sale just months after welcoming customers following extensive renovations.
The iconic pub, located in the Keyford district, had temporarily closed in early 2025 for several weeks of refurbishment and marked its grand reopening on March 21. Despite the fresh start, the establishment is now being offered for £380,000.
This grade-II listed building holds a special place in the community, reflected in its registration as an Asset of Community Value (ACV) by the Keyford Area Neighbourhood Group. This status acknowledges the pub’s role as far more than just a social venue—it is a cherished local institution.

Importantly, the ACV designation grants the community the opportunity to place a bid for the pub’s freehold, providing a chance to preserve its legacy amidst the current owner’s decision to sell.
